ALäZ-Close Your Eyes (Charles Henry Douglass Tribute)

Close Your Eyes is a lyrical tribute to the mogul, visionary, and cultural pioneer, Charles Henry Douglass by award-winning host, recording artist, and producer Vinson "ALäZ" Muhammad. It is the story of black independence and self determination. Born in 1870 in Macon, GA, Douglass developed his gift for entrepreneurship to become a force in real estate and arts and culture. In 1921, he established the Historic Douglass Theatre that became a destination for legends like Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, and even a young Otis Redding. The theatre stands today as a community resource nurturing the current and future generations of artists through educational programs, exhibits, and dynamic stage productions.
