Suggested donation of $10 at the door Singer-songwriter Ben Arthur returns to the Wise Blood house for a second concert. He'll play songs from his upcoming ninth album Perspective, and from his podcast project, SongWriter. SongWriter features stories and "answer songs" written in response, and includes performances from Joyce Carol Oates, Roxane Gay, Ted Leo, Kurt Andersen, Susan Orlean, and Gary Shteyngart.

Lauren Morrill is the author of five YA novels. NPR called her latest novel, Better Than the Best Plan, “a perfect summer read.” Active on social media, Mashable called her “one of those rare authors who tweets more about others’ books than her own.” Her publicist would like her to tweet a little bit more about her own books. She’s working on it. Lauren grew up in Maryville, Tennessee, graduated with two degrees from Indiana University, spent four years playing roller derby in Boston, and now lives in Macon, Georgia with her husband and two sons.

Vinson Muhammad was born and raised in Macon. He is a graduate of Morehouse College and an award-winning artist, composer, and host. He has been featured by All Def Music, Sofar Sounds, the Grammy Museum, and the Final Call. He has opened up for and worked with KRS-One, Vic Mensa, Erykah Badu, Bootsy Collins, and Snoop Dogg. He is executive director of The Collab Project in Santa Ana, Ca. and the Real Talk Hip Hop Summit in Macon.

Justin Cutway, who was born in western Pennsylvania but now lives in Macon, GA, writes and plays subtle songs that provide lush illustrations of the world with a sense of wonder and humor. His songs bypass the common singer/songwriter habit of naked introspection with lyrics full of imagery taken from nature and sentiments borrowed from simpler times sung with honesty and power. The music Cutway adds to these lyrics can range from a few notes gently plucked on nylon strings with sparse arrangements of found sounds to folky acoustic strums to full on guitar rock explosions powered by multiple riffs and thunderous rhythms.
